How come? C.I. had to have an emergency operation and was not able to do a snapshot. To say, "It happens . . ." Seriously, we have all taken off just because we had a stomach ache. Except C.I. And it is not as if she took the day off, she had already done two entries that morning. But she felt awful about not being able to do the snapshot that our attitude was, "Don't feel bad. We'll use it as an excuse to take a night off."
C.I. did two entries this morning ("Withdrawal less likely and Nouri invents 'meanings..." and "The League of the Righteous") but they were rushing from the hospital to a Senate hearing and she did not have time to do them until after the Senate hearing -- at which point, she dictated them and then signed off on them after reading them on her cell phone (while at another hearing). So to make sure people were not visiting the site and seeing nothing or thinking, "Oh, well I guess she's going to do the smart thing, stay in the hospital and rest and take a few days off." So that was the point of my entry.
If anything in it is good, it is the drawing Isaiah did. I had at least two typos. Once I fixed this evening and once I just saw. I hate having typos. But that is what happens, right? Proves I am not a computer. (Because, obviously, everything I else I do rises to such a level of perfection that only a machine could reach.) (I was being sarcastic.)
Tonight, Jennifer Epstein (POLITICO) reports:
Again, my hope is for prosecution.
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot" for today:
