At any rate Darren Samuelsohn (POLITICO) reports on some of the e-mails between Solyndra and the White House. It was a very close relationship. Solyndra offered media criticism to the White House. They also offered a job (bribe?) to White House special assistant Johanna Maska if he ever should "tire of the White House life" because "we could find you a great corporate gig very quickly."
Meanwhile the White House's claim that they never interfere in this process is undermined by Eli Lake's report for The Daily Beast about how General William Shelton was pressured by the White House to alter his testimony to Congress about LightSquared which is "run by Democratic donor Philip Falcone." What I found alarming that is not really stressed in the report is that "someone" leaked LightSquared a copy of the general's prepared remarks before he had delivered them. I have to wonder if that was the White House because I cannot imagine Congress leaking the statement.
