So why do Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand want Libya to focus on something that is a no-win with the people of Libya?
Jennifer Epstein (POLITICO) reports that the two New York senators want the Libyan government that emerges to put the Lockerbie bomber behind bars.
Do you really think the Libyan people, who gave the man a hero's welcome, are wanting to put the bomber behind bars?
Do you really think that would be how a new government would get off on the right foot?
Of course not.
But Senators Gillibrand and Schumer have done us a service by making it clear that the Libyan government that gets installed will be nothing but a puppet to the United States government.
