Sarah Palin remains in the news. Now it is for her statement on the shooting when she referred to the assertions that she was to blame for the shooting as "blood libel."
Now the whole gas bag medium is in a tizzy.
As a Jew, it is not a huge deal to me or even a tiny one.
I told Marcia, among other things, that I lived through the sixties and well remember that people on our side (left) used "blood libel" about various claims the U.S. government regarding the activities of the Vietnamese.
I have heard "blood libel" throughout my adult lifetime, rarely has it been applied to the Jews.
I think, yet again, people are trying to make political hay.
I will never vote for Sarah Palin. I will not however say she was 'wrong' or 'stupid' in her use of the term. She used it as so many people use the term today. ("Today" being the last five decades.)
Politico reports that Media Matters and David Brock have 'swung into action.' Let me make this very clear to Mr. Brock: Shut the hell up.
Mr. Brock is not Jewish. He was raised Catholic. He needs to shut his mouth. I know he loves to trash women. That is, after all, how he made his name, lying about Anita Hill and then about Hillary Clinton.
I do find it also telling that a man shoots a woman (and others) and the person Mr. Brock and others obsess over is . . . a woman. Not the shooter.
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot" for today:
