Honestly. I mention people all the time here and forget to link and think, "Woops." C.I. castigates herself if a link is not done -- even if it is not done in a snapshot ("even a snapshot" because C.I. does not type those up, she dictates them to a friend over the phone). Just last night, I (and everyone else) was grabbing from her list of the year-in-review pieces that ran in both of yesterday morning's entries she wrote (and typed) at The Common Ills. But did any of us link to one of those entries? I do not believe so. And we did not worry about it. But she was raised with better manners than I and I had to say tonight, "It is okay." It really is. I know she is linking to me in tomorrow's snapshot but if she were not it would still be okay. She does more than her share by far.
Third, does anyone know the name of the young man who read the poem on Monday's New Morning Show on KPFA? I want to mention him by name and give him credit; however, I went to listen today and again tonight and the stream gets stuck buffering. You can click here for that episode. I am stuck at 3 minutes and 38 seconds. I will try again tomorrow. (And I have it still stuck on buffering -- as it has been for the last 20 minutes since I started typing this.)
Now we turn to the topic of Matthew Lazar. He bills himself as a historian. It has been hilarious to listen to him for six years now -- on various Pacifica stations -- as he went from "We need democracy!" to attacks on democracy. It has been cute to watch how thrilled he was when Lem-Lem and Sasha were elevated and allowed to deliver their satirical (they did not realize that is how it came across) reports to the listeners.
I had asked my oldest son what song did those reports remind me of? He had no idea. It was a Prince song and he used to listen to it over and over. I think on 8-track. It was 8-track or cassette.
At any rate, Mr. Lazar bowed and scraped in the Court of Sir Bensky. It was always embarrassing. So it should not have been so surprising when Mr. Lazar's chosen faction/sect was no longer a sure thing that he began trashing elections and trashing this and trashing that. Mainly, he trashed his own name.
Go to The Common Ills and search "Matthew Lazar." You will find I wrote about Mr. Lazar many times. (Before I started this blog, I used to do at least a weekly "Ruth's Report" post at The Common Ills. In those posts, I covered public radio.)
You will see that, in the years when all went well for him, I wrote very nicely of him. But when his tiny toe-hold on power was threatened, Mr. Lazar became a joke. He doubled back on everything he had ever said and demonstrated that ethics were not an area he had been trained in.
These days he just acts like a little baby who has soiled his diaper and no one will change it so he screams and cries.
December 20th, he wrote "Hello new Morning Show; goodbye KPFA." As he whined like a little titty baby, he insisted this was the last time he was writing about KPFA. He had, he assured his limited readers, better things to do.
Of course, it was not the last time he wrote of KPFA. He just cannot stay away from the topic.
But what a big baby he is. And what a liar.
In the good years, he would speak publicly about the need to make changes. Now changes are made but not by his chosen few and he pouts.
Brian Edwards-Tikert knew damn well about the money problems, he spoke of them in an open, public meeting to which there are minutes. Mr. Edwards-Tikert was fired as was the joke that is Aimee I-Love-Drone-Attacks-On-Pakistan-Because-My-President-And-Facebook-Friend-Barack-Obama-Ordered-Them. What an insane loon that woman was. She pretended to be a Green on air (and once was one) but, as a Green, you understand, she whored it for canddiate Barack Obama like no one's business.
Historian Matthew Lazar is a damn liar.
And let me prove it. The KPFA historian calls out what is wrong and unbalanced, correct? He calls out lying to listeners, correct?
So where was he in 2008?
Specifically, February 2008?
That is when his crush Sir Larry Bensky came on to host the Pacifica debate. Debate? They were going to play the debate between candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. But CNN said, "No, you are not." See, Mr. Lazar never pointed out those problems. How KPFA would announce events that they were not able to do.
So, unable to play the debate live, they brought on 'experts' to provide analysis of it.
Mr. Lazar, why was everyone brought on as an unbiased analyst someone who had publicly endorsed Barack Obama?
Mr. Lazar, how come the listeners were not told that all the 'experts' had endorsed Mr. Obama?
Mr. Lazar, how come Mr. Bensky ignored the blog when the issue of the homophobia Mr. Obama's campaign was using (specifically South Carolina) and refused to address that topic even though it was all over the blog and Mr. Bensky repeatedly, in the two hour 'discussion,' asked listeners to go to the KPFA blog and leave questions?
Mr. Lazar, this two hours was supposed to feature call ins. It did not. Do you know how many callers were hung up on? I do, Mr. Lazar. Do you know what their question for the experts was about? Mr. Obama's use of homophobia.
KPFA presented a one-sided 'panel' in which all the 'experts' were endorses of Mr. Obama but the listeners were not told that. In addition, they refused to take calls (until the very end of the two hours and then only one and the dumbest question in the world was asked) because listeners wanted the homophobia issue addressed.
How was that solid programming?
Because for two hours, KPFA allowed Bensky and company to whore for Obama?
How did that serve the listeners?
Hillary won California, she carried it. She was very popular there. So how is that KPFA could not even find one supporter of her?
Mr. Lazar needs to stop his lying. His friends are not journalists, they are whores. Aimee Allison is probably the biggest whore because she cheered the drone attacks, taped a little YouTube video celebrating "my president" and his, in her mind, right to kill civilians with drones.
Mr. Lazar, do you not grasp how far from peace KPFA had gone?
What Mr. Lazar was too gutless and cowardly to cover, two strong women did in real time. If you have not already, please read Ava and C.I.'s "Panhandle Media."
It was past time to clean house. But you will have to change your own diaper, sir.
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot" for Tuesday:
