Instead the bi-partisan plan to destroy Social Security continues.
And it is amazing how they all fall silent. At the start of last month, Gene Lyons was happy to warn about the attack on Social Security. Now? Maybe he is celebrating Christmas?
They are not celebrating it in Iraq. The Washington Examiner reports:
Iraqi Catholics have canceled the traditional Midnight Christmas Mass in Iraq due to "great fear" of terrorism, and individual Christians have been warned not to celebrate Christmas openly in order to diminish the risk of attack.
"Midnight Christmas Mass has been canceled in Baghdad, Mosul and Kirkuk as a consequence of the never-ending assassinations of Christians and the attack against Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cathedral on 31st October, which killed 57 people," said Chaldean Catholic Archbishop Louis Sako of Kirkuk, according an Aid to the Church in Need Agency announcement. Christmas services will be held only during daylight hours.C.I. covers that in the snapshot. I am Jewish and I asked her how many Jews were still in Iraq. She said that most reports say there are six to five Iraqi Jews still remaining. It really is something to say that there was more religious freedom under Saddam Hussein than under Nouri al-Maliki.
