Jim Lehrer needs to get off TV. He is obviously senile and I say that as someone only a few years behind him in age, I am sure.
But I have never ever heard any anchor of the program mock someone. Mr. Lehrer thought he needed to offer the world an impression of Donald Trump. He should savet hat for parties. He did not come off as unbiased, he did not come off as impartial.
Instead of chuckling through the segment, he might have explained how President Obama was able to release a document everyone in the press insisted he could not? (As C.I.'s pointed out, the copy can be released. When the press has cited the 'it can't be released' they are referring to the original document itself.)
As I noted Tuesday in my column for Hilda's Mix, the talk at the White House was that Mr. Obama would be releasing a copy -- longform -- of his certificate of live birth this week. For that reason, we held off on the article at Third. If we had written that article, the White House might not have released the document. Despite what Mr. Lehrer believes, Donald Trump is not hurt by this, Barack Obama is. Last week, I announced the article would run on the Sunday that just passed. That did not happen. I explained why in Hilda's Mix. It should run this Sunday. Remember Dona is pregnant so our writing methods are a little different than usual. Also Ava and C.I. are tired and tired of Third and tired of writing. This Sunday they have to do their TV piece and are also planning to do a piece Ann wants them to do with her. But the birth certificate issue should be addressed and what it says about 9-11.
This is C.I's "Iraq snapshot" for today:
