Regardless, Ms. Moore was one of the few (last week) to note the attack on the Jews in the NPR fund raising lunch. So I did want to note her.
Otherwise, no NPR. I wanted to do public radio today but in terms of Pacifica. Specifically, KPFA. Lily Tomlin was on Morning Mix and I was so excited. She is so funny and so smart.
Or I thought so until I listened.
Was it just me?
I pulled up the archives thinking I would listen again (I listened to the live stream this morning).
Thankfully, others had commented so I was spared listening again. There are four comments, three of which I agree with.

There's quite a bit she could have said but instead she chose to be silly and to spin for Obama. She's now like the aged cowboys Cat Ballou encounters in that film (Cat Ballou starring Jane Fonda) who used to really be something.
Ms. Tomlin was very sad. She was talking about how Barack Obama wants to do this and that and she has no proof. She cannot even point to some speech where he expressed a desire to do what she thinks he wants to do. She offered that maybe he is just "concilatory" due to his upbrining. And she moaned and whined that he would not fight back against the Republicans.
How stupid is Lily Tomlin? Asked to name a hero only a few short years ago, Barack Obama said: Ronald Reagan.
Lily needs to pay attention. And stop inventing those fantasies where people are threatening to kill Mr. Obama if he does not do what the corporations want. She really said she believes he was threatened right after the 2008 election.
Does she really think he could have had all the corporate backing he did without being someone the corporations could trust?
Barack Obama is the President of the United States. As such, he can pretty much do whatever he wants. It is amazing that the very people who fought so hard to help him steal the nomination now want to pretend as if he is the temp in the steno pool and has no real say in anything.
Unlike Bree, I will never again see Lily Tomlin live. I'd prefer to remember her live when she was at the top of her craft and she is clearing losing it. If a movie sounds interesting, I will buy a ticket to it (but she really has not had a lead movie role since 1981).
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot" for today:
