But Betty and I have decided we will note Cougar Town which airs Wednesday nights on ABC and click here for the Hulu page for the show. This is a sitcom which stars Courtney Cox. If you are new to the show, you can refer to Ava and C.I.'s review of it from last year.
Courtney Cox plays Jules whose ex-husband, Bobby, lives on a boat and is still in love with her but she is now with her neighbor from across the street Grayson. Her best friend is Ellie who lives next door to her and is married to Andy Torres. Andy is Bobby's best friend. Laurie works for Jules and is younger than the ones mentioned so far. She's probably mid-20s. Travis is Jules and Bobby's son who just started college.
Bobby's having a rough patch and he decided to enter a local golf competition. Andy is his caddy. While that is going on, Laurie is at Travis college pretending to be in a sorority because she finds it a pick-me-up for her sometimes fragile ego. Travis' girlfriend is very tense and, at one point, Bobby explains that she is jealous of Laurie. Laurie and Travis go into this big denial but the reality is that Travis is attracted to Laurie and she appears to be attracted to him. (He was obviously attracted to her last year.)
Jules and everyone works to fix up Bobby's boat as a surprise and to take it from the parking lot it is docked in and put it up at an actual dock. Which they do. And it sinks.
The funniest part of the latest episode was when Ellie realized she did not know Grayson very well and, needing to have dirt on her friends, she began web searching him and discovered he was in pagaents as a child. This led to footage she shared with the others which led Grayson to get back at her. He dug up dirt that included her heavy, heavy eye brows in high school. As they compiled dirt on one another, Ellie felt she had enough on Grayson to trust him.
You have to know Ellie's character to really get that but she is a very funny part of the show. And I cannot remember the actress' name but she is Susan Saint James' niece. I looked it up, it is Christa Miller.
So every Thursday that a new episode airs, I will be blogging about it. I would only blog about a show where women actually had things to do. (In other words, I have no interest in Modern Family.)
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot" for today:
