Daniel Schorr was a liar and at least Politico hints at that reality.
I do not believe that when someone who was very damaging dies, we must just say nice things about them. In fact, I do not believe in the nice things only rule at all.
Part of our biggest problem in this country is that there is life and then there is our idealized cartoon version of it. In the latter, we waste endless time speculating about which former president we liked best when, if we are impressed by anything in any administration, we should be crediting the people and not the people's servant.
There is far too much glorification and worship of human beings for my taste. In part, it is due to the celebrity culture, in part it is due to the death of common sense. But I will not join the sob-fest over a selfish and lying person.
